Prof. Matias de oliveira pinto
Matias de Oliveira Pinto was born in São Paulo, Brazil, into a family of artists. He received piano and cello lessons in his early childhood and became a lecturer at the age of 18 at the music academy in Curitiba (Brazil). In Europe he studied with Prof. Eberhard Finke, Prof. Csaba Onczay, Antonio Meneses, Gerhard Mantel, William Pleeth and Paul Tortelier.
Matias de Oliveira Pinto made a name for himself both as a soloist and as a lecturer. He holds a professorship at the Musikhochschule Münster and is a visiting professor at the UdK Berlin. He regularly holds masterclasses all over the world alongside other well-known artists.
Together with Jeungbeum Sohn, Matias de Oliveira Pinto was part of our very first Classe d’Elégance in 2021. We are happy and grateful to have had him once again at Domaine de Bourigeols for our second Masterclass.
Arthur Hornig
Arthur Hornig is a new member to our team. He performs as soloist with orchestras such as the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatstheater Gießen, and the Western Bohemian Symphonie Orchestra Marienbad. As chamber musician as well as pedagogue, he is invited to renowned festivals in Asia, South America and whole Europe.
Since 2011, he is the 1st Principal Cellist of the orchestra of the „Deutsche Oper“ Berlin under maestro Donald Runnicles. In 2018 he was appointed Principal Cellist of the orchestra of the Bayreuth Wagner festival under Christian Thielemann.
With different chamber music groups, Arthur Hornig won several prizes at competitions such as the “European chamber music competition“ Karlsruhe. For more than a decade he regularly performed with “Trio NeuKlang“, playing classical repertoire, contemporary music, and crossover programs. In 2016, he won the ECHO Klassik award with his “Berolina Ensemble”.
